Assistant Professor of History (Tenure-track)

The School of Arts and Letters, Division of Humanities and Social Sciences, Biola University - Fall 2027 Position Summary: The Department of History at Biola University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of History. This is a full-time appointment with an August 2027 start date. The successful candidate will hold a PhD in History, with the area of historical field or specialization open. The department is particularly interested in historians who can teach broadly and who are committed to Biola University’s distinctive engagement with the Christian liberal arts tradition. The ideal candidate will be an effective teaching professor who engages students inside and outside of the classroom, has a collaborative and collegial attitude, and will actively support student learning through innovative program development along with visits to local museums, archives, libraries, and leading historical study tours.
